Greyhounds Drop Pair on Senior Day

Worcester, Mass. (May 5) -- The Assumption College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Le Moyne on Senior Day at Rocheleau Field on Saturday afternoon.

Prior to the game, The Greyhounds honored six seniors, Eddie McDonald (Arlington, Mass./Arlington Catholic), Ben Hastings (Norton, Mass./Norton), Joe Frasso (Winthrop, Mass./Winthrop), Tim Quinn (Paxton, Mass./Saint John's), Nick Peters (Natick, Mass./Catholic Memorial), and Frank Flynn (Worcester, Mass./Saint Peter Marian), for their contributions to the team during their careers.

Assumption dropped the first game, 5-1, while Quinn picked up two hits in the loss. Hastings got the start, and worked 8.2 innings, scattering 10 hits while allowing five runs, while striking out three.

In the second game, Assumption fell 6-2, while Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Tech) went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.

Assumption jumped out to a 2-0 lead with runs in the first and second innings, but Le Moyne fought back with a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to take a 4-2 lead. Dolphin starter Mark Kuzma settled down after the first two innings, and worked seven innings, allowing the two runs, while striking out six.

The Greyhounds fall to 12-30-1 on the season and will wrap up their season with a third game against Le Moyne at 1 p.m. at Rocheleau Field.
