Assumption Drops 15-6 decision to Adelphi University

Worcester, Mass. (April 15) -- The Assumption College baseball team lost to Adelphi University, 15-6, at Rocheleau Field, as the Greyhounds dropped the three game set, two games to one over the weekend.

Junior captain Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Tech) had two hits in the loss, his 15th multi-hit game of the season. Keddy is now batting .418 on the season.

Junior Nick Napoli (Medford, Mass./Boston College) also had two hits for Assumption and an RBI on the day.

The Greyhounds allowed four runs in the top of the second inning, and two more in the top of the third as the team fell behind 6-0 after three innings. Adelphi added five runs in the top of the fourth, to take an 11-0 lead.

Assumption added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead to eight, 11-3.

Adelphi scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning, to extend the lead to double digits against, 15-3.

The Greyhounds fall to 8-19 overall and will return to action on Tuesday, April 17. The team will travel to American International College for a 3:30 p.m. game.
