Assumption Places 276 on NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll

Mansfield, Mass. (February 11) -- The Northeast-10 Conference has released its Fall 2015 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and for the fall semester, 276 Assumption College student-athletes earned a spot on the honor roll for posting a grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher. Overall, 3,663 NE-10 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 or higher, which is a new conference mark and an improvement of over 200 from last fall.

“I am very proud of our nearly 300 student-athletes that earned a spot on the Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll,” said Nick Smith, director of athletics. “This continued pursuit of excellence is something that is very important to our department and I would like to congratulate each of these student-athletes on this outstanding accomplishment.”

With 276 student-athletes earning this honor, that marks the third-highest overall total in the Northeast-10 as the Hounds finished just two shy of second-place Merrimack. Of the 276 Assumption student-athletes honored, four received a perfect 4.0 GPA and another 99 achieved a GPA of at least a 3.50.

Overall as an athletic department, the cumulative GPA of all Assumption College student-athletes is over a 3.0 for the second straight semester as 15 of the College’s 24 teams posted a GPA of a 3.0 or higher.

Across the conference, the most student-athletes came from the sport of football with 352. Women’s soccer was next with 300, followed by baseball (293), women’s track and field (269) and men’s lacrosse (263).
