Full NE10 Release

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption College Department of Athletics placed second among the 14 institutions in the Northeast-10 Conference in the final 2019-2020 Presidents' Cup Standings. The standings were announced on Monday afternoon.

Behind two NE10 Championship titles, one regular-season championship title, five NE10 Tournament appearances, and three NCAA Tournament appearances the Greyhounds accumulated 115.5 total points.

In the fall, the men's soccer program was crowned the Northeast-10 Conference Champions and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Gannon, Penn. Field Hockey earned a double-digit point total (11.5) as they finished the regular season ranked fifth in the conference, made their way to the NE10 Semifinals round and competed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Men's golf earned 10 points in the fall as they were named the NE10 Champions and women's cross country added another 10 points with a fifth place finish at the NE10 Championship and Kialeigh Marston earning the NE10 Individual Champion title.

The Hounds finished the fall season ranked fourth in the Presidents' Cup Standings and used double-digit points from the women's indoor track & field team to place them third overall in the winter standings.

In acknowledgement of the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on intercollegiate athletics, the Northeast-10 Conference did not recognize an overall 2019-20 Presidents' Cup champion. Instead, the Conference honored Presidents' Cup seasonal champions, which have been awarded to Southern New Hampshire for its performance during the 2019 fall season and to Stonehill College for its teams' collective accomplishments during the 2019-20 winter season.

The Presidents' Cup is presented annually to signify overall athletic excellence in the NE10. After the cancellation of the spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NE10 Athletics Council – which consists of athletic directors and senior woman administrators from each member institution – determined it would honor the institutions that accumulated the highest point totals in both the fall and winter seasons, allowing the Conference to appropriately recognize the accomplishments of the membership through the conclusion of 17 of the 24 sports that comprise the award.
