WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption Director of Athletics Jamie Marcoux is pleased to announce the hiring of Tyra Talbot as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Blue & White Sports and Compliance. Talbot previously served as a graduate assistant in the office of compliance at Assumption.
"I am very excited to announce the addition of Tyra to our full-time athletics staff," said Marcoux. "Tyra has been a graduate student with us for the past two years and has been a key contributor to our daily operations especially in regards to NCAA and academic compliance. Her work ethic and attention to detail will maximize the success of our new Blue and White Sports Programs, which she will now oversee along with continuing to provide support in our Compliance Office."
"I am honored that I get to continue my career in athletics at a place I have called home for the past six years," said Talbot. "I am very excited to see what the future has in store for myself and Assumption College as well as work with all the great student-athletes we have.
Talbot's official position the past two years was as the graduate assistant for compliance and student-athlete success. In that role she assisted with compliance for various sport programs, as well as working with transfers to assure a successful transition to the College. Talbot also provided support and guidance for student-athlete welfare, diversity and inclusion.
Talbot is a 2017 graduate of Assumption, where she was involved with the Student Government Association, The ALANA Network, the First-Year Orientation program, and was a compliance work study within the Athletics Department. She received her master's degree in Business Administration from Assumption in 2019.
