STRATEGIC PLAN: Embracing Excellence (PDF)

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Northeast 10 Conference Commissioner Julie Ruppert today released the Conference's new Strategic Plan, Embracing Excellence, Strategic Vision 2019-2024, along with a revised Mission Statement and an innovative new Vision Statement.

The plan is a dynamic document that supports the NE10's core values and a bold vision for the future to prepare its student-athletes, coaches and administrators to serve as engaged citizens and leaders in a diverse global society. Further, the plan includes goals and strategies that support the league's mission to provide its student-athletes with exceptional educational opportunities, high-level DII athletics competition and personal growth through contributions to the community.

The Conference's Strategic Vision and Planning Subcommittee, led by Saint Anselm College President Dr. Steve DiSalvo and the Commissioner and her staff, worked collaboratively with the various conference constituencies and benefited significantly by a partnership with consultant Carolyn Schlie Femovich of the Pictor Group, to develop the plan. Additionally the NE10 joined with Gary Brown Communications Consulting to produce a vibrant and exciting public document illustrating the plan's components.

"With the release of this plan, the NE10 is embracing its pursuit of a level of excellence in academics and athletics that will boldly define our future. I see that future as a bright one that builds upon our strong foundation of successes," said Ruppert. "I couldn't be more proud of this plan and the strategies contained within. They reflect our strong desire to raise the profile of the Conference and our individual members, foster cohesion and pursue shared goals and objectives. Each of the plan's areas reflect our commitment to provide a distinctive Division II student-athlete experience. I want to thank President DiSalvo and our planning committee and all those who worked on our Plan for their outstanding contributions."

"As Chair of the NE10's Strategic Visioning and Planning process, I wish to convey my personal thanks to the various constituent groups involved in helping to craft the NE10 Strategic Plan," said DiSalvo. "In particular, my fellow presidents Dr. Patty Lynott, Dr. Kim Mooney, Dr. Chris Hopey, Dr. Vince Maniaci and along with our commissioner Julie Ruppert, deserve special recognition for the time and effort they put it into leading this initiative.  I would be remiss if I did not also thank our consultant Carolyn Schlie Femovich for her guidance in working with our membership over the past six months. Together we have crafted an outstanding strategic plan that will lead the NE10 into the future while always doing our best to serve our student-athletes, coaches and administrators."

"The NE10 has always enjoyed great success in many areas," said Vince Maniaci, American International College President and Chair of the Council of Presidents. "The Conference's new Strategic Plan will help guide us in new directions in our ongoing pursuit of excellence within intercollegiate athletics. This document provides a blueprint for that quest and serves to enhance our united commitment to our student-athletes. As presidents, we are committed to working to accomplish the goals of this plan and embrace the excellence that the NE10 embodies."
