WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption College had four student-athletes named Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference for their performances in competition and their success in the classroom, as announced by the NE10 on Wednesday. The Academic All-Conference Teams were voted on by a panel of athletic administrators from the league's 15 member institutions.

Sophomore Catherine French (Dudley, Mass. / Shepherd Hill) of the women's golf team was honored, alongside track and field junior Abby Jones (Arlington, Mass. / Arlington), men's lacrosse junior Connor Reid (Raynham, Mass. / Bridgewater Raynham) and women's lacrosse junior Sarah Reilly (Fairfield, Conn. / Fairfield-Warde). "Catherine, Abby, Connor and Sarah are tremendous student-athletes here at Assumption College and I am extremely proud of all they've accomplished not only in the classroom but also in competition," said Jamie Marcoux, director of athletics. "They have worked tirelessly to achieve success as student-athletes and I am excited to see the NE10 recognize them for their excellence."

French posted the lowest average round on the women's golf team for the second straight season, averaging 80.3 over 11 rounds. She posted five top-10 finishes during the year while winning the NEIGA Championship with a 161 (86-75) and placing 12th overall at the NE10 Championship. In the classroom, French has a 3.47 GPA and is a biology major.

Jones was dominant during the 2017-18 season as she reached the NCAA Division II National Championships during both the indoor season and outdoor season, becoming the first Hound to ever accomplish that feat. The year culminated with Jones earning USTFCCCA Second-Team All-America honors in the heptathlon this past May by placing 12th overall. She was also named the NE10 Field Performer of the Meet at the NE10 Indoor Championships and broke seven school records over the course of the year. Academically, Jones boasts a 3.61 GPA as a Human Services and Rehabilitation major.

Reid was impressive for Assumption this year as the team's face-off specialist. He appeared in all 13 games, winning 53.1 percent of his face-offs while ranking fourth in the NE10 with 153 face-off wins. He was also fourth in the conference with 81 ground balls and earned NEILA All-New England Second Team honors as the Hounds finished the year 7-6 overall. Off the field, Reid has a 3.49 GPA as an accounting major.

Reilly put together a record-breaking 2018 season. She became just the second player to earn IWLCA Second-Team All-Region honors, as well as being named Second-Team All-Conference. Reilly totaled a school-record 88 points from 62 goals and 26 assists, with both numbers ranking second for a single-season in program history. Additionally, she helped found the I AM mentoring program at Assumption and will serve as president of SAAC at the College for the 2018-19 academic year. Reilly owns a GPA over 3.8 as a Marketing major.
