Assumption to Hold Third Annual Greyhound Pride Challenge Feb. 23-25

WORCESTER, Mass. - Assumption Interim Director of Athletics Peter Gardula is pleased to announce the third annual Greyhound Pride Challenge will take place from 11:59 a.m. on February 23th through 11:59 p.m. on February 25th.

Last year's Pride Challenge raised over $150,000 from more than 750 donors, including hundreds of first-time donors for the Assumption Athletic Department. This year the athletic department's goal is to raise $100,000 dollars for the Pride Challenge from over 800 donors, and similar to last year all money raised by a specific program during the weekend goes solely to that program and its needs.

"This important fundraising initiative is vital as we continue to strive for excellence and it is also a great way to engage and connect with our alumni," said Gardula. "We were thrilled with the response to last year's Pride Challenge and the support we received from Hound Nation. This year we're setting our sights high once again, so we can continue to provide our student-athletes with the best possible experience here at Assumption."

This year's Pride Challenge once again features thousands of dollars of team incentives to help push programs to increase their fundraising totals. Programs can earn money for the following: being the top fundraising program, having the most first-time donors, having the highest percentage of alumni participation, as well as having the highest percentage of young alumni (less than ten years) participation.
